BEN WESTCOTT (ACCOUNTANT)

Ben is a registered Tax Agent and a member of CPA Australia. Ben started his career in the accounting industry in 2006 after completing a Bachelor of Commerce – Accounting at Macquarie University.

Ben has gained years of experience across all areas of business and personal taxation as well as providing business advisory services to clients across a range of industries. In particular Ben has worked closely with clients in the Manufacturing, Retail, Marketing & Advertising and Professional Services industries, and has developed a particular specialty in the building and construction industry as well as an expertise in maximising the benefits of the unique tax laws that apply to income earned by musicians and professional athletes.

Ben believes in building long term relationships with his clients to help take away the burdens of tax compliance as well as assisting in maximising business performance through either providing support to your businesses finance team or for those without a finance team performing that function himself. Ben is an avid sports fan and music lover and excels as a spectator of both. Despite possessing little ability in either field he can be spotted on weekends hitting golf balls into bunkers, warming the bench for the illustrious Harbord Football club and on the odd occasion taking to the nearest bar/table/karaoke stage for an unsolicited yet whole hearted rendition of ‘You’re the Voice’ by the great Johnny Farnham (encores are rarely requested!).

JOSH OGILVIE (DIRECTOR)

Josh joined the 23 Beaches from a large BRW listed firm in July 2016 with 10 years’ experience in the accounting industry. Having gained experience and knowledge in a number of industries over his time, Josh has developed a valuable understanding for a pragmatic approach to how business operates and the application of taxation compliance in accordance with that. He believes that understanding a person’s business and its people is important in developing long term working relationships with clients.

Like his business partners Josh loves his sport. Having grown up on the northern beaches Josh has been involved in numerous local sporting teams and comps over the years, most notably playing at Forest Rugby Club for over a decade where has been lucky enough to captain 1st grade, play over 100 first grade games for the club and also win a premisership in 2015.
